This past weekend was so much fun. I packed in as much activity as I could for the kids! We went to a homecoming football game, traveling to soccer games, ice cream treats, visiting our first pumpkin patch of the season, hanging out at a home and garden show, and a visit at an indoor trampoline play place. Wayne had to work all weekend, so I wanted to create a mini stay-cation adventure for the kids and me. But even though everything this weekend included all three of the kids equally, Noah tends to get ‘stuck’ with his mommy and sissies a lot, and every once in a while I try to make sure we do something ‘boyish’ with him. He’s been telling me about ‘this new’ show coming on TV soon – it’s called “Star WarsRebels”. It’s a new series on the Disney XD channel beginning October 13th.
I was shopping at Walmart Friday getting stuff for the weekend and I noticed a Star Wars Rebels DVD display in the center aisle by the electronics, and instantly thought of Noah.
I purchased the DVD along with one of the new toys for him – the Inquisitor Lightsaber. (They also had a Rebels Millennium Falcon and an SW Command Destroyer that looked like fun.)
He walked in the door Friday evening an immediately saw the new presents and started shouting, “Thank you Mommy! Thank you Mommy!” He began playing with his new toy, but we had to migrate out in the front yard so he had more room to practice.
We all kicked back Saturday morning before our soccer games and snuggled up on my bed and watched Noah’s new show with him. He definitely felt like the center of attention! I love surprising the kids sometimes with things like this – ultimately it’s not just the toy or DVD, but the thought and time spent together that really makes it worth it.
You can purchase the new Star Wars Rebels exclusively at Walmart until the 13th!

Now THERE is one happy kid! I love hearing that the words 'Thank you' don't have to be dragged out of him. Good for you!
Thanks! He is at such a fun age where everything is new and exciting! 🙂
