My Favorite Personal Moments of 2016

For the past few years I’ve been sharing my favorite documented moments for the year. It’s a great way to reflect on the good memories of the year, and even though this last year had many challenging moments, looking back there were some pretty amazing ones too.

My Favorite Moments of 2016

In January we did something a little different for Emma’s 8th birthday, and went snow tubing for the first time then stayed at the Timberline lodge.

Then February we took the kids to see a Monster Jam performance for the first time on Valentine’s weekend and we all had an entertaining afternoon.

In March I finally had something done that I had been wanting to accomplish for a long time: moving this website to Wordpress.

April we took the kids on a mini road trip to Astoria, where we stayed at the local KOA and explored some of the Fort Stevens State Park.

We also went on a day trip out to Woodburn and visited a tulip festival for the first time.

During Memorial Day weekend we had a mini stay-cation and visited the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum and the Wings and Waves Waterpark.

In July we traveled down the Oregon Coast and stayed the night in Crescent City, Ca. and visited the Redwood National Forest, the stayed with family and visited the Wildlife Safari on our way home.

I also had a lot of changes last summer, accepting a new job and falling ill with pyelonephritis that landed me in the hospital for a few days.

In October I was invited to a really fun media trip to Prosser, Washington

Finally in December we stayed low-key for the holidays and enjoyed time together, just the 5 of us – and went to a Christmas tree farm for the first time to pick out the perfect tree.

I don’t know about you – but I’m excited for 2017 and all of the new memories that I hope to create this year.
