Why it’s been a week

It’s been a week since I’ve said hello to you.

It has been a long time since I’ve been at loss for words for seven days, and even though I have so many wonderful things to share and say, I haven’t had the energy to formulate the words and tell you about them. Perhaps it’s because the last few weeks of the school year are crazy for any parent, and when you add in sports, work, graduations and birthdays the days turn into a blur.

I quietly turned 31 last week, and celebrated with dinner the day of and a glass of wine with friends this past weekend.

Today Noah, my last baby, will graduate Kindergarten. We’ve had family up and staying with us this weekend for the occasion.

I’m not ready.

I’ve also been toying around with the idea from a potential job offer, and while I don’t want to go into any details on here; change is something that I don’t take lightly and comes with many thoughts and decisions. I’m always thinking about what is best for the family, and sometimes it’s hard to differentiate between which is better – providing more, or being present more. It’s a fine balancing act that will always be a struggle for me.

So while I have full intentions of being back to this space in full-blown motion again very soon – sharing fun tips and ideas with you, I just wanted to leave you a note and let you know that sometimes things get hard… sometimes it’s hard to always be perfect and keep up, but I do know this: I love this little space here on the Internet where I can connect with you, and share all of the things that I love. This website isn’t just for you, but for me. This is my therapeutic spot that is always here for me.

While you are wrapping things up and preparing for summer, make sure you document the moments. Take pictures at your children’s field day, record a Kindergarten graduation, and live in the moment. Life is a beautiful gift that moves way too fast. Enjoy the little things and appreciate what you have.
