Hot Honey Whiskey Apple Cider

This fall cocktail is incredible simple to make, but oh-so delicious. Mix Honey Whiskey and Apple Cider together for a tasty Whiskey Apple Cider drink.

As half of America was celebrating the Cubs victory the other day (congrats!) I was happily watching the CMA Awards. Did you watch it? My evening began with a Scrabble game with Anika, then we both watched the award show (she had no school the next day) while Googling 8th Grade promotion dresses! It’s still 6 months away, but she’s not a girly girl and I suggested that perhaps she could wear a dress for the promotion – and she began looking for ideas. I still can’t believe that time is flying by so fast. I want to host a fun little party for her next summer. Have you ever hosted an 8th grade promotion before?

As I was watching the CMA Awards show I couldn’t help but feel happy and nostalgic. I honestly hated country music as a kid, but then grew to love it as a teenager, and I haven’t looked back since. There  is something about the country genre that seems like family to me, and I enjoy seeing it grow and evolve.

While watching the program I sipped on a nice fall warm drink that I first threw together on Halloween. It’s incredibly simple to make, and perhaps you already drink something like this in the fall yourselves – but it was so good I thought I’d share my little cocktail with you.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces of hot spiced apple cider (I used a mix, however fresh would be amazing too!)
  • 2 ounce of honey liqueur infused whiskey (I used Jim Beam)
  • 2 apple slices for garnish
  • a dash of cinnamon

Instructions

Pour the whiskey into the hot apple cider. Slice two apple slices thinly and place into the beverage side by side to create a heart. Sprinkle cinnamon on top and enjoy!

I loved the mildness of the honey whiskey that added a little flavor and made the cider a little less sweet. I’m not normally a huge whiskey drinker, however I could probably sip on a few too many of these tasty drinks. 🙂

Do you have a go-to fall drink? I’d love to try it out! Shoot some ideas for me at Melissakaylene@gmail.com or comment below – I’d love to share a few on here!
