Fun Times at Feast Portland 2016

This was the third year in a row that I’ve had the opportunity to attend Feast Portland. I’ve fallen in love with Feast and all of the amazing events that are hosted every year. This year I unfortunately had to cut what is normally a multi-day fun fest into just one day – but I still had another amazing experience.

I started out at a media lounge for bloggers and journalists, then walked down to the Pioneer Courthouse Square where the Grand Tasting was held. There I sampled many different amazing bites and sipped on some of the best wine in the pacific northwest – like this Pinot Noir Rosé by Stoller Family Estate.

Olympic Provisions had one of the best charcuterie spreads around with many different delicious sampling options that you could pile up on your own personal plate. The line was long but it was definitely worth it.

A couple of my local favorites were there, Jacobsen Salt Co. and Bee Local Honey – (Hint – these are awesome stocking stuffers for the holiday season!)

Of course, if you are a local Portland-er you know that Salt & Straw is perhaps the best ice cream ever. I’ve sample many of their unique combos over the years, but couldn’t pass up a scoop of  their classic Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper.

That evening I rode a lively party bus out to Zidell Yards where I attended the USA Pears Night Market event. The weather cooperated perfectly that night and as the sun set the sky was lit up with beautiful party lights and the city of Portland and the waterfront in the background.

Feast has certainly become an annual event that I look forward to every September. It’s something that it not only a great deal of fun, but helps so many as the event partners programs such as Hunger-Free Oregon. The festival has a mission to help end childhood hunger.

Mark your calendars: Feast Portland will be returning September 14th-17th 2017!
