5 Mother’s Day Activities

What are your favorite Mother’s Day Activities? Do you have a tradition that you keep every Mother’s Day? Perhaps it’s getting a manicure and pedicure, shopping at the mall, or going to your favorite restaurant. My tradition for the past decade has consisted of staying in bed for as long as possible, drinking mimosas, and having breakfast served to me from the kids. Anything that involves sleeping in and mimosas are A-OK with me. 🙂

Whether you are spending this Mother’s Day with your kids, your Mom, or other family and friends, try to do something that you wouldn’t normally do on a regular day (like cocktails with breakfast!) to make the day special and more fun. Whether you like celebrating things according to what our culture thinks you should do (chocolate and flowers) for the holiday or going off and doing something completely different, make it special; make it memorable.

If you are still debating on what Mother’s Day Activities to do this weekend, here are a few ideas to get your creativity flowing:

Take her to a special restaurant – or re-create her favorite restaurant dish at home. Going out on Mother’s Day can be fun, but you know what else is fun? Cooking together. Buy all of the ingredients to make her favorite restaurant dish and try to replicate it together.

Go on an outdoor adventure – find a new trail to hike on and have a picnic, go to the beach, build a fire pit and roast some marshmallows. Find something different and unique outside that you don’t normally do together and spend the day exploring.

Attend a local Mother’s Day event – look online or around town for local Mother’s Day events happening. Many wineries or spas will have unique things happening for Mother’s Day. Finds something fun like a painting class or a horse trail ride.

Head out on a train ride to a nearby town and spend the afternoon shopping together.

Plan an at-home Mother/Daughter party and make it special. Make mini hors d’oeuvres , buy a special game to play, make a signatures drink and take lots of photos.

I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day this weekend! If you have any other fun Mother’s Day activities you’d like to share – message me on Facebook! 🙂
