Celebrate Life Series: Why Making Memories is So Important

Hello my friends! I’ve never been more excited to share some of the amazing things happening here at Melissa Kaylene. As you know last year marked this website’s 5th anniversary, and I spent some time this summer reflecting on just how far this website has come. What started out a tiny blog with simple stories has progressed into a larger website that offers a wide variety of topics for readers. I’ve got to tell you it’s been a fun journey.

Introducing: Celebrate Life Series:

Over the next few weeks you’ll see even more useful content on topics that I personally am passionate about; making memories and celebrating everyday life. I’m a firm believer that we should be making the most out of this thing called life and no matter how big or how small, life should be cheered on daily. There are so many negative things in the world that gets press, why not share positive things?

We’ll talk about things like how to make each season extraordinary, how to make dinner time more memorable, ways to keep track of your memories, and how to plan your perfect weekend getaway. Each week I’ll be diving into these topics more as I take you on my journey to celebrate life.

Why Making Memories Is So Important:

Today I wanted to share a little behind the scenes with you, and why I believe making memories is so important. You see, I have a terrible memory. I know that sounds silly, but unless I write it down or take a picture, chances are I’m not going to remember that night back in 2002 when there was apparently something important. Heck, I can barely recall what I did the last week. We all get busy, and that’s why I think it’s so important to consciously make memories, as cheesy as that sounds.

I’m not suggesting that you go out and “create memories” that may  be somewhat fabricated, but what I am telling you to do is slow down, enjoy each day a bit more, and see where it takes you. When you take a second to think about what’s happening on a daily basis you’ll be able to recall that moment in life a little more. Take a second and observe around you; what do you see? What do you smell? Who are you with?

Sometimes you’ll need to do more than slowing down and observing. You need to know how your brain remembers things. Are you a visual person? Then take a photo. Do you remember better when you write things down? Then start a journal (or a blog!) Perhaps you don’t need any guidance to remember life’s little details. Just figure out who you are and embrace it.

I believe that life is simply a string of memories that start when you are born and end the day you die.  Why not make the most of them?

Your homework for this week is to read about how to make your days more memorable, and I have a FREE 8 STEP GUIDE that I’ve written for you to help get your brain thinking about this change. Click below to get your FREE 5 PAGE 8 STEP MEMORY MAKING GUIDE TODAY:

Cheers,

Melissa
